Flatbed Trucking

for a Wide Range of Large, Heavy, or Unconventionally Shaped Cargo

  • Building Materials – piping, I-beams, cable reels, steel coils, lumber, etc.
  • Heavy Machinery – tractors, excavators, bulldozers, etc.
  • Other Cargo – scrap metal, tired bales, super sacks, etc.

Flatbed trucks are widely used due to their versatility to haul items that do not fit into an enclosed trailer. Perishable freight is about the only thing that cannot be moved with a flatbed truck.

East Coast Transport can ensure the safe and efficient transport of your goods. A good flatbed trucking service provider will have the appropriate equipment and expertise to secure and transport your cargo, as well as the necessary permits and insurance to comply with all applicable regulations and safety standards. Let East Coast Transport take care of your flatbed trucking needs.

Flatbed Trucking Benefits:

Versatility

Flatbed trucks can be used to transport a wide range of goods and materials, including oversized or irregularly shaped items that may not fit properly inside a closed trailer.

Accessibility

Flatbed trucks are easier to load and unload as there are no sides or roof to obstruct access to the cargo.

Customization

Flatbed trucking services can be customized to meet the specific needs of each customer, including the type of cargo being transported and the destination.

Safety

Flatbed trucking services typically have a good safety record, as they are subject to strict regulations and safety standards.

Efficiency

Flatbed trucks can be loaded and unloaded more quickly than closed trailers, which saves time and reduces transportation costs.

Cost Effective

Particularly for large or heavy items that require specialized handling.

Flatbed Trucking Service

Most flatbeds have a flat deck or the step deck (also known as a drop deck). Some flatbed trucks have double step decks, perfect for oversized cargo. A step deck can accommodate much taller loads than a box, van, or normal flatbed truck. Our flatbed trucking service ensures safe transport because cargo is secured on the flatbed truck using ropes, chains, and straps. Side rack kits or walls with fixed canvas tarps can be added to flatbed trucks. Curtain side trailer covers and curtain side tarp systems roll forward and backward on the trailer to cover up freight and protect it during poor weather conditions. Due to the design of flatbed trucks, cranes and forklifts are able to quickly load and unload goods from the rear, top, and both sides. Because flatbed trucks often have ramps, they are ideal for loading and unloading at construction sites and shipping points, which generally do not have docks.
